Alyson counsels and represents men and women throughout Ohio in all matters related to divorce and dissolution proceedings, including child custody, support and visitation, spousal support, division of marital debts and assets, as well as professional and business interests and prenuptial agreements. She also represents unmarried parents involved in paternity, custody and child support matters as well as grandparents in custody and visitation cases.

Alyson believes in settlement and compromise. She works diligently to help her clients reach out-of-court agreements because it provides certainty for the client and, in most cases, reduces the emotional and financial distress that litigation can create. However, understanding not every case will settle out of court, her astute attention to detail and advocacy skills, along with the special care she devotes to each client’s unique circumstances, consistently leads to favorable results both at the negotiation table and at trial.

Alyson’s successes are the result of a belief system that embraces conflict resolution. The collaborative process engages parties and their respective counsel, who are both trained in principled negotiation and creative problem solving in open, honest communication geared toward reaching a resolution. It is an effective and efficient process that often minimizes the negative economic, social and emotional consequences typically involved when terminating a marriage, or in any other family law related dispute. Alyson is a member of the Central Ohio Academy of Collaborative Divorce Professionals. With more than a decade of family law experience, Alyson serves as a neutral third party for couples facing divorce, or any other family law related dispute. An early neutral evaluation provides both parties an objective assessment of the issues at hand and the relative strengths and weaknesses of each party’s position. She acts as an educator, consultant and evaluator, which often encourages the parties to explore a broad range of creative options and solutions. As a neutral party, Alyson does not represent either party during the process. The purpose of the evaluation is to give both parties a realistic view of the case and to encourage settlement.

Alyson is a registered Guardian Ad Litem representing the best interests of children involved in custody disputes. Her passion for making sure children's interests are heard and considered began in law school where her thesis focused on in-camera interviews of children involved in custody disputes. Alyson also represents parties in adoption and step-parent adoption matters.
